Post-COVID-19 ergonomic school furniture design under fuzzy logic

BACKGROUND: Because of wrong sitting position, children have back-pain and related musculoskeletal pain (MPD). Due to inappropriate designed class furniture by not taking into account the children’s anthropometric measurements negative effect on systems. The impact COVID-19 pandemic crisis has changed industry’s production trends. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed develop a new fuzzy based design ergonomic-oriented classroom for primary school students considering measured dimensions students’ safety, health, well-being, i.e. ergonomic criteria, socio-psychological aspect post-COVID policies. METHODS: In 2049 number are assessed policies their static were between 7-10-year-old (between 1st-4th grade students) descriptive statistics among ages genders calculated; mean, standard deviation, percentiles. data collected from analyzed quantitatively using Significance Analysis: Mann-Whitney U test statistic, t-test, Regression Analysis one-way ANOVA. interviews with experts performed mathematical model (by fuzzy-AHP, fuzzy-TOPSIS fuzzy-VIKOR) is developed calculate Turkey’s three schools’ furniture. RESULTS: Results showed statistically significant differences two genders. And it observed that seating bench height too high lower than classroom’s blackboard floor. Fuzzy Multi Criteria Decision Making Method’s (FMCDM) results show should be mainly “COVID-19 Criteria”, “Ergonomic Criteria” “Socio-Psychological Aspect”. Students’ existing benches tables policies/protocols, Ergonomic Socio-Psychological Aspect. bench/chair table’s proposed in study. CONCLUSIONS: Children at long periods activities involve time desks schools. As per study, can concluded management must consider genders, take policies/protocols while procuring single largest event affected globally access recent times; estimates suggest over 85%of world’s total enrolled learners, 1.5 billion youths, been affected. coronavirus also creates dramatic changes
